Fluffy White Bread Loaf
This makes a small loaf, so feel free to double the batch if you are unsure
about halving an egg. Bake a double batch in a 12" x 6" pan for 45-50 minutes.

photo Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup room temperature water
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1/2 large egg

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup dried potato flakes
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. instant yeast

    Directions
    1) Fit your mixer or food processor with a dough hook (or set your breadmaker on the 'dough' setting). Add the water, butter, and egg. Top with flour, potato flakes, sugar, and salt. Make a small indention in the top of the dry ingredients and fill with the yeast. Mix the ingredients together well and then let rise for 1 1/2 hour.

    2) Shape the dough into an oval and place in a 5" x 9" baking pan. Using a knife, cut the loaf in half vertically, almost to the bottom of the pan. Cover with lightly greased plastic wrap and let the loaf rise until 1" above the edge of the pan (about an hour or two).

    3) Bake the bread at 350 F for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown.
